Swallow Falls State Park

In the heart of Garrett County, this amazing old growth forest is full of easy walking and hiking trails that will have you chasing waterfalls, don’t worry it is totally worth it! Be sure to bring a bathing suit to enjoy a quick dip in the crisp water!
Oakland, Maryland

This cute and quaint small town is full of great shops, local history, and places to eat! A few of our must hit stops would include the farmers market (open on Wednesdays and Saturdays), Flip Side Records, our local bookstore, and Englanders for a milkshake!
Wisp Resort

Wisp has so much to offer, no matter what the season! Enjoy hiking and biking trails, the mountain coaster and white water rafting (if you are feeling adventurous), and an evening summer concert! Tons to do right at your doorstep!

Swallow Falls State Park - Fun, easy walking trails through the woods to waterfalls and swimming
Deep Creek Lake State Park - Home to several favorite hiking trails including the Cherry Creek Loop and what we call "The Fire Tower and the Old Mine hike" which you may or may not find on All Trails. Also includes a small swimming beach, a boat ramp, and a fishing pier.

Downtown Oakland - Be sure to stop by the farmer's market, the old Railroad museum, and Englanders
Frank Lloyd Wrights’ Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob - Our architecture loving friends and family may prefer flying in and out of Pittsburgh to also be able to detour via other Frank Lloyd Wright houses at Polymath Park. Be warned that there is a very limited food selection in the area.

Spruce Forest Artisan Village- This cute historic village is a great stop for all things shopping and food! While there take in the views over Castleman Bridge.

Golf at Thousand Acres or Oakland Golf Course- Both of these are great options, be sure to call ahead for a tee time!

Deep Creek Lavender Farm- This gorgeous pick your own farm has countless varities of lavender to choose from, before you leave get a lavender lemonade and scoop of lavender ice cream!
Funland Minigolf and Arcade- A summer at the lake is not complete until you make a trip to Funland. If you have leftover tickets, leave them with us…after 28 summers we are still pinning for that top shelf!​

Deep Creek Fun Zone - Go-karts, mini-golf, laser tag & an arcade, plus an American bar & grill.

Ace’s Run - Amazing American food and a Deep Creek Lake Classic
Firewater - We recommend dinner at Ace’s and cocktails at Firewater overlooking the lake
MoonShadow - A wonderful meal and amazing music! Get a craft cocktail or beer and enjoy all the eclectic good vibes Deep Creek has to offer with local artists playing throughout each weekend
Dutch’s At Silver Tree Restaurant - A convenient, and perhaps overpriced, meal for those staying at or near Silver Tree
Pawn Run - A local rustic gastro but be warned not the most vegetarian friendly
Mountain State Brewing Co. - A great casual brewery and restaurant
